Mix groundnut powder, cayenne, paprika, onion powder, ginger, garlic powder, and salt to make yaji spice.
Slice beef very thinly against the grain into long strips.
Toss beef strips with oil and 3/4 of the yaji spice mix, coating evenly.
Thread onto skewers and refrigerate 1 hour minimum.
Grill over high heat (charcoal is traditional) for 3-4 minutes per side until charred edges.
Sprinkle remaining yaji spice over hot skewers immediately after grilling.
Serve with sliced raw onion, tomato, and fresh cabbage on newspaper (traditional style).
