Cook macaroni in salted water until slightly underdone, drain
Brown ground beef with diced onion, season with salt and pepper
Grease a large baking dish and mix pasta with the meat
Whisk together eggs and milk with a pinch of salt
Pour the egg-milk mixture evenly over the pasta and meat
Dot the top with butter and sprinkle with breadcrumbs
Bake at 200C (400F) for 40 to 45 minutes until golden brown and set
Let rest for 10 minutes, then serve with ketchup — the Finnish way

Refrigerate up to 4 days. Freezes well in portions for 3 months. Reheat in oven at 175C covered with foil to restore the crispy top.
