Dissolve yeast in lukewarm milk, add sugar, melted butter, egg, cardamom, and salt
Gradually mix in flour until a soft dough forms, knead for 10 minutes until smooth
Let rise in a warm place, covered, for 1 hour until doubled in size
Roll dough into a large rectangle on a floured surface
Spread soft butter over the dough, sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar
Roll up tightly from the long side and cut into 3 cm pieces on the diagonal
Place cut-side up on a lined baking sheet, press the center with a finger to shape, let rise 30 minutes
Brush with beaten egg, sprinkle with pearl sugar, and bake at 225C (435F) for 10 to 12 minutes
